When I was a child growing up on the farm, my favorite time of day was when I was allowed to walk after the cows in the pasture to bring them home for milking. That is the moment the inspiration of nature began. As I got older, this love never faded and eventually I went to college to study art.
I work in hand-built porcelain sculpture and use many different mediums, such as porcelain clay, alcohol ink, and experiment with techniques. I believe that working in a single medium is restrictive to my artistic process. Each idea manifests in its own individual style.
I enjoy experiencing nature in my spare time and many of my pieces are directly influenced by this time in nature. I love recreating plants and wildlife in my work.
